We are pleased to be in our 14th year with this special event and have some very extraordinary guests scheduled to attend. ”
The Host Committee includes the following: Dr David Satcher, Dr. Wendolyn Bouie, Rev. (Dr.) Gerard Durley, Senator Steen Miles, Ms. Brenda Reid, Ms. Evelyn Mims, Mrs. Laurie Sossa, Prof. Augustine Esogbue and Mr. Rod Melvin. A host of special Atlanta-area guests have also been invited to the Gala.
The ACF organization, which has long had an association with Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu from when he served as the Honorary Chair of the inaugural Taste of the World event in 2001, will extend its connection by including the Tutu Desks Project as one of the supportive programs. As an honor to his legacy, ACF will host a private unveiling of portrait of Tutu in Buckhead on the Saturday evening before the Gala.
